Unsubscribing and privacy
What Waitlark stores, and what happens when someone leaves the list.
What Waitlark stores
- The email address, language and status (waiting for confirmation, or confirmed).
- Where the signup came from: the page path, the form's placement, the name of the referring site and the campaign tags.
- The answers to your questions.
Waitlark doesn't store IP addresses, browser details or cookies. The data is stored in the EU.
Unsubscribing
Every email has an unsubscribe link, and mail programs show their own unsubscribe button (one-click, RFC 8058).
- The link opens a page with one button. Only that button removes the person. A link scanner that opens the page changes nothing.
- Unsubscribing removes the person completely: their address, their answers and their history. Nothing is kept on a suppression list.
Links in emails
Confirmation, unsubscribe and profile links are signed per person and per purpose. An unsubscribe link can't confirm anyone, and a link can't be guessed or changed into someone else's. Waitlark doesn't store the links themselves.
