Add a waitlist form with the embed

One script and one tag. The form takes your project's colours, copy and questions.

The quickest way to put a Waitlark form on any site is the embed:

<script src="https://api.waitlark.com/v1/embed.js" defer></script>
<waitlark-form project="pk_yourproject" placement="hero"></waitlark-form>

The form loads your project's settings: colours, copy in the visitor's language, your signup questions and the bot check. You don't style it yourself. It runs in Shadow DOM, so your site's CSS can't break it and it can't break your site.

Attributes

AttributeWhat it does
projectYour project key (pk_…). Required.
langLanguage of the form. Without it, the page's language is used, then the visitor's browser.
placementA name for this spot on the page, such as hero or footer. It shows up as a source in your list.
mode="popup"Shows a button that opens the form in a dialog. The form never opens by itself on page load.
triggerWith mode="popup": a CSS selector for your own buttons that should open the form.
analytics="off"Don't send the signup event to Umami or Plausible.

After someone joins

  • Double opt-in: the form says to check their inbox.
  • Welcome email instead: the form shows the person's spot in line.
  • Welcome flow: if your project has follow-up questions, they appear one per screen. Each answer is saved straight away.

The form also fires a waitlark:joined event on the page, see Track signups in your analytics.

Before it works on your site

  1. Your site's address must be on the project's list of allowed sites. Forms from other sites are refused.
  2. If your site sends a Content Security Policy, allow Waitlark in it. See Content Security Policy.
